Data Entry, Filing, Shipping - Home Based
Currently seeking qualified people to process and ship books, nationwide.
As an agent, you will go to places where used books are sold at wholesale prices, including warehouses, distribution centers, and sometimes thrift stores or libraries. (Warehouses and distribution centers often have limited or no climate control.) When there, you will call one of our data entry operators and, for all of the non-fiction books at each place, read the ISBN number on the back of each book, the cost of each book, and any defects that each book has. The data entry operator will enter the information you read into our online database and within a few seconds for each book, the data entry operator will give a Yes or No purchase decision. You purchase the approved books, using our money.
You must be able to lift 25-pound boxes of books. Every night we will email a list of books that sold the previous day, and a list of the names and addresses of the customers who bought the books. You label with our sku labels and file them in numerical order. You print shipping labels using our Internet postage account.
You take the books to the post office every second business day.
Compensation for part-time contractors is 75 cents per book purchased plus 50 cents per book shipped plus $2.50 per trip to the post office. Compensation for full-time employees is $30,000 per year paid semi-monthly, or the fees outlined above, whichever is greater. We also reimburse for cell phone time at 3.5 cents per minute while talking to a data entry operator.
The books you purchase are not pre-sold, and you are not given a list of the books that we want, as there are several hundred thousand approved books and the list is changing constantly. That is why you need to enter the books into our online database to check for approval. All of our books are sold on Amazon.com and eBay.com.
