How To Search Craigslist For A Work At Home Job
Christine # MomJobs.com
If you are a long-time fan of the site craigslist.org, you know that it contains a wealth of legitimate telecommuting jobs. The hard part, however, is to actually find them! Here are two tricks I've learned after a few years of trial and error.
Craigslist is broken down into city sections. Searching for a job that can be worked from anywhere can be quite tedious, since you are limited to your area when performing job searches.
So how do you perform a national search for telecommuting jobs from Craigslist? I don't even actually go on the Craigslist site to perform searches for telecommuting jobs! Here's what I do:
I use Google's search to pull up telecommuting listings at Craigslist. The upside is that you have access to just about all of the jobs currently listed on Craigslist. The downside? You have a lot of search pages to sift through! The last search I did pulled up 69,000 pages! To perform a search, go directly to google.com and type the following search phrase in: site:craigslist.org "telecommuting is OK" Or you can use the following link (be sure that the entire link gets pasted in your browser): http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&as_qdr=all&q=+site%3Acraigslist.org+%22telecommuting+is+OK%22+&btnG=Search
Crazedlist.org allows you to search multiple cities at Craigslist.org at one time. This is a very nice search tool, however, I really don't know how long the site will be up. Craigslist has a problem with other sites butting into their searches. So far, so good. I'm hoping this site is here to stay. To search, all you'll have to do is check "Jobs - telecommute" and select the cities that you wish to search. You'll also need to enter a search term. I choose "telecommute".
I'm hoping to discover a few new tricks to the wonderful world of telecommuting jobs over at Craigslist. Stay tuned!
